Both apps show zero distance - that's not a bug - that looks like you've got your phone's GPS turned off.

I've contacted Samsung support - they say:

"This new problem seems to be a bit strange to us. Do you have any idea, from where those people has purchased the Wave 8500 phones? From the market? Please try to collect that information and share with us. Meanwhile, we will be checking the issue here and will get back to you asap. "

Any information you can supply - your carrier, do you have a data contract, where did you buy the phone, what OS version are you running?

Another update from Samsung:

"Hi Stuart, It is possible that the users are having some device they had received during some dev day. Some of those hardware (pre-market version hardware) were having GPS issues. We have confirmed that there is no issue in French wave models. Thank you."

Does this sound like you?
